JOY OF SPRING.....

GRAMMA WAS ASKED TO WRITE A POEM ABOUT SPRING BY THE WELLNESS GIRLS THAT WORK AT THE HOME WHERE SHE LIVES. THIS IS THE POEM.....I THOUGHT SHE DID VERY WELL.......SHE LOVES TO WRITE POETRY AND HAS STARTED HER LIFE STORY AS WELL.......


JOY OF SPRING:

Softly we wander down the sunlit path
With the sky above us reflected
in the quiet waters of the lake below.
Its gentle lapping reminds us of a Mother's soft caress
on her wee one's brow.

Not long before, the winter storms blew cold,
and snow was drifted deep on windowsills!
While Jack Frost painted snowy scenes and hills
and left us shivering from their icy cold!

When would we feel again,
the warm sun's comfort
Shine through the frosty windowpane?
To melt the frigid ice and snow of winter and
bring the flowers and birdsong back again.

But then one morning waking very early,
I heard a welcome birdcall sound.
A Robin with his "cheery cheer up''!
My heart in happy answer did abound.

Then, soon, more wonders did appear,
the fuzzy little crocus raised its head of blue to greet the sun.
The grass turned green and warm beneath our feet,
The chickadees spring song, so sweet, had soon begun!

How could these things just happen?
Was it not a God of Love?
Who formed them for our pleasure,
And sent them from above?

Now as springtime is before us,
may we praise our God above,
who showered us with blessings.....
But most of all......HIS LOVE.

For above all else He gave us...
Was His only Blessed Son,
To take our sin, upon His Cross,
And die for everyone!

Then receive Him as your Savior,
And in His Love abide,
Then I'll meet you in the morning,
safe on Heaven's Glory Side.

Happy Birthday to our dear Nate who turns 5 today. Here he is ...... one of his favorite pastimes is listening to Grandpa Jim read books to him before bedtime......

At Miles and Arlene's place for dinner one Sunday after church......they are neighbours and live just two doors down from them......

He loves his daddy and here he is celebrating with his daddy and little sister on their birthdays.......

With his best bud, Noah........He absolutely adores his older cousin and loves spending time with him.......
NATE....THE GREAT is one of his nicknames and as is with all our grandchildren....he is one special little person with a loving heart, a mischievous twinkle in his eye and boundless energy.....he is thoughtful and loves to make pictures for his mommy and daddy...he is helpful, fun and makes us laugh. He has an infectious giggle and loves to help Grandpa fix things.....any type of car or truck or motorcycle intrigues him....

sister-time......

Thursday of last week, my sister Joyce and her hubby came to town for Roy's cousin's funeral. They stayed with Doreen, Roy's sister. So I spent a better part of the afternoon visiting with them. It was so fun and just what I needed. I get very lonesome sometimes for my sisters and this was just the best.

This couple is just so young looking for their age. I can't believe that they are still farming and they keep their farmyard like a park. It is just beautiful......they plant a large vegetable garden plus Joyce has all kinds of flowers. It is just the best to go and visit them on the farm, truly a relaxing and wonderful time.

I am so thankful for my sisters and what they mean to me. Another blessing in our lives.

We have three grandchildren and one son-in-law that have birthdays in Jan. Kaia on the 7th........and Breiden on the 19th.........

Wayne on the 21st........and Siri on the 27th............What pure joy, these loved ones are in our lives......

We thank God every day for them and wish them all a wonderful birthday.

These two are best buds and they all have so much fun together.

New Year's Company......

On New Year's Day, we had Heather and Duane and family, Naomi and Kevin and family over for supper.

Jan. 2, my brothers and their lovely wives came over for supper. It was so much fun to do some entertaining over the holidays.

So much fun to spend some time with our friends in Camrose. And to see Kirby as well. Stayed overnight with them and she fed us a wonderful breakfast before taking off for home. Thanks Joy and Orv.
