Flowers, flowers everywhere......

I love flowers so my back yard is filled with them and a couple of cherry tomato plants. So far we have enjoyed 250 tomatos of the two plants and they are yummy........

And now there are a bunch more so when it looks like frost, out comes the sheet to cover them......

I just can't believe summer is now turning into fall...........

I have to take pictures so when it is c-c-c-cold and snowing outside, I can look at this and envision next summer sitting outside enjoying my coffee.........

The petunias just bloom and bloom and bloom. I love their bright, cheery blossoms and they seem to thrive even when hit by hail or hard rain or whatever......just like the cat, they come back. There is probably a "life" lesson in there somewhere.

But for now, I am enjoying this to the fullest......
Thank the good Lord that He created these visions of beauty....It is totally amazing when you just think about the tiny seed and how it can finally come to this........
Love it, love it, love it!!!!Posted by Picasa

Fall Fair at Okotoks......

Last Saturday was the Fall Fair in downtown Okotoks so we went for a couple of hours.....Heather and Duane and the kids rode their bikes down and......

we tried the chili at the chili-eating contest.....mmmm good......

There were horse-drawn wagons where you could hitch a ride and a petting zoo and bouncy houses and a dunk tank.....which wouldn't be too much fun cause it was a CHILLY day........

And then the super dogs......Jemma, Ireland and Siri intently watching the action.......This little dog played soccer too and that was just too funny. He was really good at getting the ball going with his nose!!!!Posted by PicasaThis was all along with the rodeo that was going on in town. A fun time for the kids.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEATHER........

Yesterday I went out to Okotoks at noon and Heather and I and the kids met at Ricky's for a birthday lunch........Ricky's is a good place to take kids cause they get to color and they have kid's menus. Heather and the kids had just been at a Teddy Bears picnic at the Medical Care Center and Nate was so proud because he had won a cuddly teddy bear. They all had to take their favourite teddy bear and these stuffed animals got all bandaged up and had their shots. What a great way to teach the kids about hospitals. Of course there were clowns and music and crafts, etc., etc.

The kids get so excited about birthday parties.....

Embarrassing Heather by singing to her. She got a free dessert out of the deal!!!!

Camrose and New Sarepta.....

Friday afternoon after being at the museum, we stopped at Ma-Me-O beach close to Wetaskwin to cool off. It was so hot so we spent about an hour there before driving to Camrose.
We had coffee with Lorry and Margaret Olson on Friday evening. Hadn't seen them in such a long time.
Saturday morning we had breakfast (waffles and sausage) at Joy and Orv's home. So fun!
Kjell and Gunnar came over and what a sweet little boy. Looks exactly like Kjell did at that age.
Then on to New Sarepta to watch the town parade. Dale Olson had his motorcycle trike in the parade. He built this bike......very impressive so Jim was anxious to see it.

Wetaskwin and the museum......

Jim and I drove up to the museum in Wetaskwin on this last Friday to see the display they have there. Model T fords and other old cars as well as planes.......This is a picture they gave us as a souvenir. I don't think they smiled in those days!!!!!
Had a ride in a 1927 Model T ford around the grounds......
A machine like his dad had on the farm......
Looking at the small versions of the cars and tractors.......
Here he is standing beside a car (1929 Model A) like he had (actually his very first car) when he was quite abit younger and beside it was a.......yup......motorcycle!!!! An old Harley!!!!!!
He has cars, motorcycles, tractors in his blood, that boy!!!!!!!! He enjoyed it and do you know what??? So did I!!!!!!
