VBS program last Thursday night.......

I tried to put a video on but it didn't work. I must be doing something wrong. Jemma and Ryan are telling us what they have......

learned......and reciting Bible verses.....Karsten too had a Bible verse that he recited.......

The final song "Were you there when they crucified my Lord?" Each child came up and put a teddy bear that they had made in class at the foot of the cross and a couple from our church who go to Mexico every year take them and present them to the orphans down there.

Very touching end to the program. Not too many dry eyes.Posted by Picasa

Visit with Tim and Brenda......short and sweet.....

Our dear friends and part of our extended family (Tim and Brenda.....missionaries to Niger) came and stayed over last night. They drove from Kelowna and it was slow going in the mountains as a result of an accident so they didn't arrive at their son's place til 8:30 P.M. So we had a short visit over yogurt, fresh fruit and coffee this morning before they had to leave to drop in on Gramma and then to their appointment. They are driving back to Kelowna today to get ready to go back to Africa on the 28th of July. They came home for a short furlough to attend their daughter, Jemma's wedding last Saturday. Tim performed the ceremony........ the wedding was beautiful in Anne's gorgeous yard......the family all together.
Blessings to you......May God's love and protection surround you!

EAT YOUR HEART OUT!!!!!!

These three special gals in our lives come from BC and Washington. They are Aunty Esther's daughters and they planned a road trip.......Calgary first to see Gramma, Saskatoon to see Aunty Helen and Camrose to see Aunty Ruth. And we were blessed to have them come and stay with us while in Calgary. What fun we had walking down memory lane, laughing at ourselves as we discussed how getting older is not always the most fun but at this time in our lives, it is essential to have a sense of humor and see the silly side of life!!!! And to realize that God is still in control and watches over each one of us......our children......and our grandchildren. How good that is!! Both Anne and Lois know what it is like to lose a loved one as both their husbands are now in Heaven. What comfort faith and family are at this time in their lives. We had such a good time and wouldn't you know it yesterday Lois (the one on the right) decided to make whole wheat rolls and cinamon buns. What a treat!!! I don't usually bake buns but they say we are never too old to learn so I got her recipe and by gum, I am going to try my hardest to make some!!!!! I made some Santa Fe Soup (a recipe I got from Delaine) and the rolls went wonderfully with that soup. I think making buns has to be her specialty.

The sticky cinamon buns were out of this world.........and of course my husband enjoyed it to the fullest because that is one of his absolute favorite things in the whole world besides cars and motorcycles I mean!!! I think I do rank in there too......somewhere!!!!!!

(I am joking of course. He treats me very special)

Here we are having our lunch. Guess what we had.......yup you guessed it......rolls, butter and jam!!!! And a little salad on the side. Yummy!!!

Weekend events......

Sunday morning, Kayla Ratz and Heather taught the kids
a couple of songs from Avalanche Ranch program.......
VBS starts on Monday

Last Saturday night, Jim and I went up to Red Deer for the Southern Gospel Concert and of course one of our favourite groups was there.....the Booth Brothers. There were many other groups that we enjoyed......the Hunter family from Saskatchewan, Legacy Five, Sweet Presence, and many others. The concerts usually go from around 6:00P.M. to 11:30 P.M. This time we met some people from our church and went out for dessert after the concert so needless to say, we got home late......like 2:00 A.M. We haven't stayed out late like that for many years!!!!!!

Cat Creek.......

It was a beautiful day out in the mountains. Larry, Irene, Julene, Stephan, Jim and I packed a picnic lunch and drove out to Cat Creek via Highway 1, then 40. What a gorgeous drive.
The flower in the above picture is a Alberta Rose.
This is the spot where alot of people bring their horses and even covered wagons and go into the back country on horseback for maybe a couple days or a week or two.
The Rev and his wife..........
Here we are being silly as usual.............
I have no idea what kind of flower this was but it was beautiful........
What could be better......sitting around the campfire roasting wieners........
I have absolutely no idea what we were looking at but it must have been terribly interesting........
Another mountain flower......Julene showed me a feature that I didn't realize I had on my camera so I was trying it out.......
Trying to keep the fire going..........
